Daily Recap Report

9/25: Started the day with QQ and hit a set. DJ didn’t have anything so I couldn’t pull any chips from him. I played conservatively with a big table for most of the day. I had KK twice but they only held up once. One time an Ace came on the flop and I knew DJ hit it but when he went all in I was already pot committed. My reads were good for most of the day. At a big table I didn’t have the best hand too often and I could generally get a read on the players. One time Kurt pushed in $6 with A4s and I had A10. I thought I had Kurt beat but I looked left and thought yeo had me beat. I folded and yeo called with AQ. The last hand of the day I had KJs with max, antwan limping before me. I raised $1 Kurt called, max who had 66 folded, antwan called. I paired my king and Kurt and antwan put in $0.25. I raised $2.00 and everyone folded.

9/26: A $20 dollar loss is the worst day I’ve had playing poker. Against a 3 man table, max, ryan, and I, my game plan was to trap and let the other guy do the betting. They thought I was the weakest player there and I wanted them to think they could push me around but then I would be able to trap them. Maybe next time I should try to push more with a small table. I re-learned that when someone thinks a long time after the river then makes a large bet they are not bluffing! I lost over $6 calling against flushes that hit on the river when I had 2 pair and trip 7. Both times I checked on 4th street after making my hand giving them a chance to outdraw me. I need to be more aggressive when I make my hands and put fear into them. Max and Ryan were not scared of me at all, and I couldn’t get a solid read on them while I was playing.

9/26: After getting schooled by max and ryan I was eager to join a table at chunks house with scott, mike endress, some other kid named mike and dan jong. I started out the day too anxious. I had AQ and flopped top pair but I kept calling $1 bets to endress who had a straight. The entire table was extremely loose. I found it hard to get into a hand because $1-2 bets were being thrown around endlessly. I beat DJ on a hand which I had an 84 and caught low pair 4s on the flop. After two $1.50 bets he folded and said he wasn’t goin to chase. I got eliminated the first time when I flopped a pair of K’s but Donovan put me all in with A4 and hit his A on the river. I was frustrated by my lack of being able to play a lot of hands. I bought back in and started just calling a few hands pre flop and found it an easy way to get in cheap when everyone else just called. One time with 79s I flopped a diamond flush and endress bet $1. I rose to $5 but then another diamond came down! I called to the end and endress only had a 2 high flush giving me a huge pot.. Another time I flopped a straight with 89 and bet big into endress. 4th street brought a 9 meaning all endress had to do was have a K to have the higher straight. I called down angrily and endress only had 2 pair capping me off at $30.

My Game

Be AGGRESSIVE when you have the best hand.
Bet with top pair and don’t give people a chance to out draw you.
If someone bets into you when you flopped a weird but strong hand go all in.
When you bet big after the flop when you have a good hand people might not call u and then the next time you do it they might think your bluffing cuz they’re curious to what you have.

Scouting Report

Ryan Anderson – Cracked a smile in a stare down with max when he had top pair Ks. He then avoided eye contact before max folded. He also avoided eye contact when he made the nut flush that I called when I had trips. Likes to take a long time to bet big after he makes nuts on river.

Max Berkenhiemer – When he said he wished he had “this kind of hand at a big table” he had AQ. When he moved a big stack in against me his right arm shook. He had a flush. When he went all in with trip 4’s his arm did not shake. Likes to take a long time to bet big after he makes nuts on river.

Thomas Yeo – Everything yeo says at the poker table is a lie based on reality. If he says he had an AJ he might have had something like J9.

Chunk - Raises pre-flop a lot with big stack. He will bet after the flop with just one over card. He will even bet with two under cards. If you get two pair or top pair or maybe even middle pair go after him cuz he will call it down no matter what.

Mike Endress – His facial expressions give away his hands a lot when he doesn’t wear sunglasses. He chases flushes to the bitter end even if he has a low flush draw. Endress likes to semi-bluff his flush and straight draws. He is susceptible to big check raises because it’s hard for him to lay down a hand late in the game.

Dan Jong – Hard for me to get a read on him. He likes to be aggressive pre flop and raises a lot. I think J9 might be the cut off for a pre raise. He is disciplined and aggressive. Gets his money all in on a good hand.

Scott Houston – Hard for him to fold a pocket pair.
